Accessibility Statement for On Carpentry

Last updated: 11.09.2025

We want everyone who uses our website [www.on-carpentry.com] to have a positive experience. This statement outlines how accessible our site is, what we’re doing to improve it, and how you can get assistance.

1. Compliance & Standards

We aim for our website to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards. While we strive to comply in all areas, some parts of the site may not yet fully meet these standards.

2. What Is Accessible

On Carpentry’s website has been designed so that:

  • You can navigate using keyboard and screen reader tools

  • You can zoom into text up to 200% without content becoming unreadable or breaking layout

  • Text has sufficient contrast against backgrounds in most areas

  • Images include alternative text where appropriate

  • Forms have labels and clear instructions

3. Known Accessibility Issues

Despite our best efforts, some parts of the site may still present challenges. These include:

  • Some older PDF documents that are not fully accessible

  • Some interactive elements (e.g. sliders, maps) may have limited keyboard support

  • Occasional missing or unclear alt-text for some images

  • Some colour contrast issues in graphics or overlays

We are working to address these issues and review them regularly.

4. What We’re Doing to Improve

  • Conducting regular audits (manual and automated) of the website’s accessibility

  • Improving our content processes to ensure new content meets accessibility standards

  • Updating older content, PDFs, and images to be fully accessible

  • Training our staff on accessibility best practices

  • Providing alternative formats of content upon request

5. Feedback & Assistance

If you find something on our site that isn’t accessible, or if you need information in a different format, please get in touch. We’ll do our best to provide what you need.

6. Enforcement & Legal

If you are in the UK, the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) is responsible for enforcing the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations. Although we are a private business, we are committed to good practice and strive for compliance with relevant accessibility laws.
